Choosing a pool
A pool pays smaller amounts more often than solo mining does. In exchange you pay a fee and trust the operator to build blocks and hold your earnings until payout. Check what you're signing up for first.

Last day's blocksSide by side
| Pool | Pool fee | Miner dev fee | Payout | Miner software | Share of blocks, 24 h |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AriaPool | 3% | 1% of mining time | PPLNS, hourly, 1 NORTH minimum | Aria Energy. Download only; no public source for the NORTH build | 18.4% |
| IronPool | 2% | None | PPLNS, after 100 confirmations, 0.01 NORTH minimum | IronMiner. Open source (GPL) | 13.9% |
Fees and terms come from each pool's NORTH page and the miners' public source, checked on 2026-10-26. A miner dev fee is on top of the pool fee. Neither pool publishes the source of its pool server. With both, your address is your login, and the pool holds your earnings until they're paid out. IronPool is run by a contributor to this site.

What to check before you join
- The whole fee. The pool fee plus any dev fee built into the pool's miner.
- Who holds your coins. Until a payout, your share sits in the pool's wallet. Find the payout threshold and how often they pay.
- The miner. Can you read the source, or is it a closed binary? TrueNorth uses a custom RandomX salt, so stock miners won't work without changes.
- How big the pool already is. A pool above 33% of the network can use selfish-mining strategies, and above 50% it can rewrite recent blocks. Spreading hashrate keeps the chain safe for everyone, including you.
The project's mining policy welcomes both solo and pool mining, prefers peer-to-peer pools (P2Pool style) over centralized ones, and asks any pool to keep below 33% of network hash.
